Cancun Travel Guide

Cancun - 14 miles of white beaches, crystal clear Caribbean waters and perfect margaritas!  This tropical paradise is a fantastic holiday destination. The number of international tourist exceeded 19.3 million in 2014! Its not a surprise consider how much Cancun has to offer!

If you are planning to visit Cancun, you should continue the reading and make the most of my advices!

Cancun is a perfect combination of both worlds: from ancient Mayan kingdoms to the modern infrastructures.  Unlike many other cities of Mexico, Cancun was built for tourists.  Hence there is nothing you can’t do in this beautiful and enormous Hotel Zone.

WHY CANCUN?

Weather
Due to perfect, tropical weather Cancun is a holiday destination ALL YEAR. The yearly average temperature is 26 degrees!  The dry season is between November and April, which sets the coolest temperatures.  Hence, wet season runs between May and October and it’s slightly hotter. The Caribbean Sea temperature is fantastic year round, averaging 27 degrees.

 Beaches

Cancun has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The Hotel Zone is located on 14 miles long, white beach. The Caribbean Sea is warm and crystal clear.  You can spent your time on the beach, reading your book, listening to music and drinking “pina colada”.

Night Life
If you love night life, drinking, partying and Cancun is for you! With the  extremely famous Coco Bongo club  you always have a way to spent your evening.  With all types of shows from Michael Jackson to Super heroes, Coco Bongo is well equipped to keep you happy.  The price is very around the week, it usually costs $70 - $100. Hence book in advance for the best deal.

Shopping
Cancun features some of the best designer clothing shops in the world. You can find there brands like: Tiffany, Gucci, Prada, Emporio Armani and so on.  Keep in mind that you can claim tax back on your purchases.

GETTING AROUND CANCUN
There are several ways to get around Cancun, I would recommend the bus. It is a fantastic and easy way of getting around the hotel zone and into the city. Bare in mind that the bus station in the city has bigger buses that offer routes to larger tourist destinations. However, if you fancy saving some money? There is an alternative to taking the large ADO buses. Small buses under the name of “collectivo”, similarly will take you to all of these places for under half the price! Something to definitely bare in mind.
Taxi’s are very easy to find, however they can be quite expensive, look into the Cancun currency for more info on payments here!

CANCUN CURRENCY
In cancun you have two options of payment, Mexican Peso or US Dollar. Trust me on this, take peso instead. You are able to get everything so much cheaper! This is because all of the tourists from America, who are still carrying there dollars. It is much easier for these tourists to use these dollars rather than converting them into peso. Always barter with salesmen, I found that you are usually able to get a huge discount, sometimes over 50%.

LANGUAGE IN CANCUN
Spanish! There is very little to learn, as most are comfortable speaking English in cancun. But if you fancy touching up on your Spanish? Now is your opportunity!

    1. It is definitely a nightlife attraction during spring break, its something to bare in mind as i've heard it can get pretty wild. Before and after it returns back to normal and although there is that scene, you still have the opportunity to kick back and relax.
